Twitter: Hashflags and Other #WorldCup Features
Hashflags are back! Twitter has unlocked Hashflags again, for Brazil 2014, after their initial introduction during 2010 World Cup. By using a hashtag before each three-letter country code, the country's flag will appear after the text.
And here's the introduction video for #WorldCup on Twitter.
Twitter is again using its main potential (its being realtime) for another global event - 2014 Brazil World Cup. In addition to Hashflags, Twitter introduced the #WorldCup centre where you can follow all the actions. It includes a scoreboard, photos and the teams (except for Iran - the only team with no official Twitter account) and the news.
UPDATE: Now it's 32 verified Twitter accounts for 32 countries at 2014 World Cup as Iran now has a verified account.
You can also easily vote for your team. Plus, you can use twitter to change your profile picture to your country's flag! And you can do it right here:
